Abstract

1537575 Frames A DAMGAARD 12 Jan 1976 [10 Jan 1975] 01037/76 Heading E1J [Also in Division F2] A door or window frame consisting of two opposed frames joined at 2 in the wall opening comprises elongate members 3, 4, 13, 14 each having a trimming portion a and an architrave portion b, c with 45‹ mitred corner joints secured by gluing joining-pieces 5, 15 to the inside of the architrave portions 3b, 4b, 13b, 14b, the joining-pieces 5 and 15 having a tongue and undercut groove connection Fig. 3 (not shown). The joints may be also bolted together 7, 17. The joints between members 4 and 14 further may have an angle piece (19) with undercut grooves which engage with mating ribs on the parts 8, 18 secured to members 4a, 14a. The interlocking tongue and groove in the portions 5, 15 may be set at a slight angle to the mitre cut to give a wedging action.
