Abstract

1,140,351. Door and window frames. TIMBER RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION. 6 April, 1966 [6 Jan., 1965], No. 613/65. Heading E1J. Fig. 5 shows two doors 7 at right angles to each other, the characteristic feature of each door frame is that the external surface of the frame members 11 has two or more grooves 21, which when a frame is fixed to the upright members 15 of the wall containing the door aperture, receive the edge portions of the architraves, slips, tiles or like finishing members 43. The two frame members 11 where they meet are mitered as at 31. The edges of the architraves 43 entering the grooves 21 may be wedge-shaped or L-shaped, in which case they may be reversed as well as having two alternative grooves to allow for different thicknesses of wall.
