Abstract
937,200. Air-cooled cylinders. KLOCK-. NER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. April 19, 1962 [April 22, 1961], No. 15275/62. Class 7(2). The flanged upper end 12 of a liner 3 of an air-cooled engine is seated in a ring 13 of heavy metal clamped between the cylinder head 6 and barrel 2. The head and barrel are preferably of light metal, the liner 3 may be of cast iron, and the ring 13 may be of a good heat conducting material such as copper or bronze. The liner 3 may be a sliding or force fit in the barrel 2 and the thickness of the barrel may increase towards each end.
