935,948. Loud-speakers. GOODMANS INDUSTRIES Ltd. June 8, 1961 [June 1, 1960], No. 19384/60. Class 40 (4). In a moving-coil loud-speaker in which the chassis 6 is attached to a magnet unit including a pot 1 and a separate centre-pole magnet 8 fixed to the rear wall of the pot 1, the pot 1 has an inner bore 2 which does not extend for its full diameter to the open end of the pot, thus forming an integral pole plate 3. The chassis 6 is fixed to the pot 1 by pressing the ring 7 into the annular recess 4 round the front end of the pot and staking or swaging the edge of the pot over the edge of the ring. The central magnet 8 is fixed to the pot 1 by introducing a pellet of thermo-plastic cement into the latter and melting it, whereafter the magnet 8 is inserted by means of a centring gauge. Considerable pressure is applied by a toggle clamp or the like and the excess cement is forced around the magnet 8 as shown at 9.
