Abstract
1,259,517. Earphones. HOSHIDENKISEIZO K.K. 12 Feb., 1969 [19 June, 1968], No. 7621/69. Heading H4J. An earphone has a cylindrical casing 1 with an axial extension of reduced diameter 1b for insertion into the ear. A coil bobbin 5 is mounted within the casing and surrounds an axially magnetized permanent magnet 8. The bobbin 5 has a radial flange 6, at the end adjacent the axial extension, terminating in a flat portion 9 on which diaphragm 7 is held by magnetic attraction assisted by annular rib 14 on the casing interior. The casing is moulded from polyethylene in two parts which snap together at 1a, 1d. An insulating plate 13 is inserted behind magnet 8 and carries conductive parts 17a, 17b to which leads from coil 11 are connected to supply leads 16. The rear of the casing assembly is filled by a sponge rubber or plastics material 15 to secure the bobbin assembly against rib 14.
