Abstract

397,617. Loud-speakers. DEMPSTER, E. R. and MAGNAVOX (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., 89, Kingsway, London. May 13, 1932, No. 13790. [Class 10 (iv).] A moving coil loud-speaker comprises a permanent magnet 10 of substantially C-shape against the inturned ends of which the outer polepiece 11 in the form of an apertured plate is pressed by means of a centring sleeve 15 and nut 18 on the centre polepiece 13, the base of which seats against the centre of the magnet. The cone housing 20 may be carried by the plate 11 as shown or, alternatively, the cone may be supported directly by the magnet structure, the plate 11 being stepped down at its centre in order to accommodate the cone.
