Abstract
403,670. Loud-speakers. DEMPSTER, E. R., and MAGNAVOX (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd., 89, Kingsway, London. June 27, 1932, No. 18154. [Class 40 (iv).] A magnet structure for an electrodynamic sound reproducer comprises a two limb permanent magnet, a flat plate against which one limb of the magnet abuts and a pole-piece on the other limb of the magnet extending into an aperture in the plate, the plate being provided with an extension remote from the magnetic circuit upon which a transformer may be mounted. As shown, the magnet structure comprises a horseshoe magnet 16 having an outer pole plate 10 contacting one limb thereof and a flange 15 of a centre pole piece 14 contacting the other limb thereof, the whole being secured together by a bolt 17. A plate 12 screwed to the plate 10 serves to centre the pole-piece 14 in the aperture 13 in the plate 10, the cross section of which is made equal to or greater than that of the pole piece 14. Holes 18 are provided in the plate 10 for securing the structure to the diaphragm housing and the transformer 19 may be mounted as shown on the plate 10.
