Abstract

862,776. Loud-speakers. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. Sept. 18, 1959 [Sept. 19, 1958], No. 30012/58. Class 4C (4). [Also in Group XXXV] A moving-coil loud-speaker comprises a top plate 5 secured by a press fit in a pot-shaped magnet yoke 1, which has an external shoulder 7, and a chassis 8 having a central hole which fits over the yoke 1 so that the chassis rests against the shoulder 7. The chassis 8 is held in place by deformation of at least part, such as stags 9, of the portion 6 of the yoke 1 projecting above the chassis. The top-plate 5 has two parallel straight edges 10 so that it may be made from a strip of a width less than the internal diameter of the yoke 1.
