Abstract

931,176. Creel apparatus. LEESONA CORPORATION. May 18, 1961 [May 19, 1960], No. 18123/61. Class 120 (2). A bobbin S1 of a yarn package is housed at its upper end in a support tube 84 and its lower end rests on a vertical post 32. When the yarn has been removed by a winding machine a shaft 14 is rotated to move the tube and post to positions 84<SP>1</SP> and 321 where, as shown, cam means 54 has caused a pivoted arm 40<SP>1</SP> to move a sleeve 48<SP>1</SP> up the post 32<SP>1</SP> to lift the now empty bobbin S2 off the post 32<SP>1</SP> and where further cam means 90, 98 has caused the tube 84<SP>1</SP> to pivot out of the vertical so that the empty bobbin can drop into a trough for empty bobbins S2<SP>1</SP>. The machine comprises at least two support tubes 84 and associated posts 32 at circumferentially spaced points around the shaft 14 so that whilst an empty bobbin is being automatically rejected and replaced manually by a full one, the winding machine 10 can continue to draw yarn from a package in another tube 84.
