Abstract

876,212. Winding transfer tails on yarn packages. BRITISH NYLON SPINNERS Ltd. June 20, 1960 [July 17, 1959], No. 24562/59. Classes 120 (2) and 120 (3) A transfer tail is wound at one end of the former on which a package of yarn is subsequently wound and clear of the field of traverse therefor, each succeeding turn of the tail overlapping the preceding adjacent one at a point or points thereon and the last turn leading to the package. In a ring-spinning apparatus, the ring is tilted and raised (from the waste-winding position beneath the lower end of the former e.g. a cylindrical, aluminium, or resin-treated paper, tube) during the tail winding by causing the ring-holder to be locked to and follow the rising motion of a blade attached to the ring-rail, and thus effect the overlap.
