Abstract

928,145. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. June 9, 1961 [June 10, 1960], No. 20948/61. Addition to 907,519. Class 38 (5). A sealed magnetic contact device as claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification, has a contact at or near the end of a magnetizable movable member and a leaf-spring attached to the opposite side of the movable member to the side which carries said contact. In Fig. 1 the movable armature 4 carries a contact 5 cooperating with a fixed contact 3 and is welded at 7 to a leaf-spring 6 which is welded at 8 to the bar 2 and extends from the free end of the bar 2 to a point opposite the contact 3 to damp contact bounce. A spring 11 locates the contact assembly in the sealed glass housing 8. In Fig. 2, a leaf-spring 7 biases the armature 5 into engagement with magnetic contact pin 4<SP>1</SP> and away from magnetic contact pin 2<SP>1</SP>. The spring hinge 6 electrically connects the armature 5 and pin 3<SP>1</SP>. The cap 8 may be metallic. 'Specification 829,066 also is referred to.
