Abstract

1,247,109. Electromagnetic relays. ELLENBERGER & POENSGEN G.m.b.H. 3 July, 1969 [16 Aug., 1968], No. 33687/69. Heading H1N. A balanced armature relay has a coil 4 on a former 5 around a core 6 fitted in the lower part 1 of a relay housing and a U-shaped armature 10 mounted by its pivot pin 9 in the upper part 2 of the relay housing. On the sides of the armature, contact springs 15 are mounted on projections 14 and one of the projections 14 provides, a seating for one end of an armature biasing spring 19 which has its other end on an adjustable screw 21 in the housing part 2. Contacts 16 on the ends of contact springs 15 co-operate with fixed contacts 17 on terminal members 18 mounted in the housing part 1. The terminal member 18 and a coil terminal 23 project through the housing part 2 to form plug contacts. When used as a motor starting relay one end of the coil 4 is connected to a contact terminal 18.
