Abstract

908,166. Electromagnetic relays. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Feb. 3, 1961 [Feb. 3, 1960], No. 4145/61. Class 38 (5). In a vibration-proof electromagnetic relay a moving contact 1b is carried on a resilient rod 1 and is moved by a leaf spring la engaged by an insulating member 2a on the armature 2. The relay is polarized by a permanent magnet 4 so that the direction of movement of the armature depends upon the direction of energization of the coil 5. When the armature is moved anticlockwise, the member 2a bears on the spring la to move the contact 1b from engagement with a fixed contact 3a into engagement with a second fixed contact 3b. A second set of changeover contacts (Fig. 2, not shown) are actuated by an insulating member 2a<SP>1</SP> on clockwise rotation of the armature 2. The rod 1, contact 1b and leaf spring 1a may be formed as an integral unit of contact material or the contact 1b and leaf spring 1a may be an integral unit fitting as a sleeve over the free end of the rod 1. The relay may be hermetically sealed.
