Abstract
925,322. Bearings. GELENKWELLENBAU G.m.b.H. Nov. 10, 1960 [Dec. 29, 1959], No. 38595/60. Class 12 (1). [Also in Group XXIV] In a ball, or roller, bearing for a cross-type universal joint for example, an inner race 3 is non-rotatably attached to a pin 1 of the joint and the balls, or rollers, 6 are axially retained by shoulders 5 integral with the race 3. In an embodiment an outer race 7, Fig. 1, having a flange 7a, is received by a bore 8 of a member 4 and is retained therein by a cover 9 secured by screws 11. A thrust bearing 10 and a seal 12 are also provided. In another embodiment the outer race is a bush 13, Fig. 2, having a shoulder 13a engaging the member 4, and the cover is a radial extension of the bush 13.
