In a multi-storey garage, the parking areas of each floor are inclined and the floors are arranged in at least two groups, the floors of each group being parallel to each other but inclined oppositely to those of the adjacent group and being connected at the centre and both ends to the floors of the same level in the adjacent group so that cars may be driven over these connecting areas from one group to another. As shown, Fig, 1, the floor 5, 6 of group 1 slopes upwardly from left to right of the drawing and is joined by a horizontal path 9, 14 to the floor 10, 11 of group 2 which slopes downwardly from left to right. A path 7 at one end of floor 5, 6 is on the same level as and continuous with a path 15 associated with the floor 10, 11 next below the one shown whilst a path 8 at the other end of floor 5, 6 is on the same level as a path 16 associated with the floor 10, 11 next above the one shown. To reach the top of the building, starting at entrance 17, a car is driven counterclockwise, either around the whole building or only around the areas 5 and 10. A larger building (not shown) comprises four groups of floors of equal area or three groups, of which the intermediate one is twice the width of the outer groups.
