Abstract

966,962. Garages. N. E. M. BRYDON. Feb. 20, 1961 [Dec. 2, 1959], No. 40955/59. Heading E1A. In a multi-storey garage, the roof and upper floors are supported by columns extending from the roof to the foundations; the columns being uniformly spaced in a plurality of uniformly spaced parallel transverse and longitudinal rows, the rows extending parallel to the respective sides of the building which is parallelogram shaped in plan. The arrangement is such that large and small cars are respectively parked parallel to the major and minor axes of the parallelogram, Fig. 1 (not shown). Twin spiral ramps. 17 are provided centrally of the building.
