Abstract

917,213. Alternators. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 18, 1960 [April 20, 1959], No. 13426/59. Class 35. A brushless alternator has excitation and main windings of different pole-numbers on both stator and rotor, the systems being linked through a rectifier on the rotor which provides the main excitation. The field winding 7 of the excitation system is fed with D.C. or A.C. and the resultant current 12 in the corresponding rotor winding is rectified in a dry rectifier 13 and passes at 15 to the main rotor field winding which produces an A.C. output at main stator winding 10 in the usual way. Specification 712,372 is referred to.
