Abstract
907,553. Mooring ships and boats. ANDERSON, H. W. Oct. 12, 1960 [Oct. 16, 1959], No. 34969/60. Class 113. An automatic mooring catch comprises a hook 2, 3, 4 which is mounted adjacent the bow of a boat by clamps 10 and which is adapted to engage the rod 15 which projects upwardly from a mooring float. The boat is manoeuvred so that the rod 15 will be engaged in the angle between the catch and the edge of the foredeck to follow a path as indicated in Fig. 2 past the " non-return " spring 8 and into the catch. When not required the catch may be moved through 90 degrees to be stowed against the side of the boat. In another embodiment the catch is stowed on the deck and moved through 180 degrees to an outboard operation position.
