Abstract
1,241,550. Stowing and launching life-saving craft. HUSBANDS SHIPYARDS Ltd. 6 March, 1969 [9 Dec., 1967], No. 56107/67. Heading B7S. A cradle device for a life raft or dinghy 35 comprises a static support 15 pivotally (at 22) carrying a cradle 19, a shoot arrangement 12 having an inboard portion 23 fixedly carried by the cradle and pivotally connected at 27 to an outboard portion 25 and a link 13 pivotally connected to a static member 14 and at 29 to the outboard portion, so that the cradle may be pivoted from a storage position (shown in full lines ) wherein the inboard and outboard portions 23, 25 extend upwardly adjacent each other to a discharge position (shown in dotted lines) wherein the cradle 19 is partially inverted and the portions 23, 25 extended in longitudinal alignment to form a shoot which is inclined downwardly from the cradle. The static mem ber 14 provides a mounting for a means 31 for quickly releasing a strap arrangement 34 which holds the raft or dinghy 35 in the cradle 19.
