Abstract

829,280. Tug's hawser guide. MASKIN AKTIESELSKAP ANKERLOKKEN. Sept. 24, 1958, No. 30448/58. Classes 113 and 114. A guide for the hawser 4 of a tug comprises a rail 5 arranged aft of the tow hook 3 (mounted on a deck house 1) and adapted to engage the hawser from above, the rail extending athwartship at a height giving free passageway along the deck and then at or near the sides of the tug extending downwardly and forwardly at least to a point 7 substantially athwart of the tow hook. In the embodiment in Fig. 2 the rail is made of sheet metal having a bead forming the guide for the hawser, the outer portion of the rail being in the plane of the ship's rail 2. A rail 8 aft of the rail 5 serves as a lower guide face when the hawser is slack.
