495,154. Mooring ships. HOFF, H. Jan. 20, 1938, No. 1871. Convention date, Feb. 2, 1937. [Class 113 (i)] A ship such as a lightship has its main anchor cable 3 secured to its keel. This attachment is facilitated by an auxiliary chain 4 permanently attached to the keel at 2 and which during mooring is first secured to the main cable at 5. When the main cable is slackened the tension is taken by the auxiliary chain.
