Abstract

868,246. Cooling furnace charges. DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBERSCHEIDEANSTALT. May 19, 1959 [May 29, 1958], No. 17003/59. Class 51 (2). Material heated in a vacuum furnace is cooled by introducing an inert gas at atmospheric or elevated pressure, allowing it to expand and absorb heat from the material, extracting it from the furnace chamber, and introducing more gas. The extracted gas is cooled, compressed and stored in a reservoir for re-use, and the process may be intermittent or continuous.
