867,864. Discharge lamp circuits. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 22, 1957 [Dec. 3, 1956], No. 36930/56. Class 38 (4). A circuit for operating one or more fluorescent lamps 1 from a D.C. supply 5, 6 has cathodic electrodes 3a indirectly heated by a filament 4 controlled by a time switch 8, which closes at the same time as, and opens a short time after, a main switch 7. Resistors R1, R limit the heater and discharge current respectively. The lamps and heaters may be arranged in any series and/or parallel arrangement.
