1,001,251. Fluorescent discharge lamps- S. W. FENTON. Sept. 4, 1961 [Sept. 13, 1960], No. 31535/60. Drawings to Specification. Heading H1D. [Also in Division H2] Fluorescent discharge lamps with directlyheated filaments are switched between a condition in which only a slight electric discharge is maintained through the lamps, so that virtually no light is emitted, and a fully-operative condition in which the full discharge is passing, the filaments of the lamp remaining connected to the heating voltage supply in both conditions. A circuit for switching three pairs of lamps successively into the fully-operative condition is described (see Division H2).
