Abstract

863,016. Manure distributers. SCHUITEMAKER, J. Aug. 12, 1957, No. 25416/57. Class 6(1). A machine for spreading manure comprises an endless conveyer (not shown), mounted in shafts 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, the conveyer feeding material to rotary spreaders 21 and being driven by a shaft 1 which extends diagonally across the machine to a laterally arranged transmission unit 4 which contains the end of the shaft 2. The end of shaft 1 is provided with a bevel gear 7 which rotates a gear 8 freely rotatable on the shaft 2. A cam 9 in the gear 8 intermittently actuates a roller 11 on a bellcrank 12 which moves a pinion 15 coupled to the shaft 2. The gear 8 is provided with a nut portion 8<SP>1</SP> which extends outside the unit 4 and carries a gear 10 which drives the shaft 20 in which the spreaders 21 are mounted.
