Abstract

618,205. Manure distributers. HOFFSTETTER. G. O. Nov. 1, 1946, No. 32539. Convention date, Jan. 3. [Class 6 (i)] A fertilizer distributer comprises, in combination, a hopper 16 with downwardly-convergent sides, a rotary agitator 31 within the hopper and a worm conveyer 19 in the lower part of the hopper which feeds material rearwardly to fall through a shoot 37 on to a rotary spreader 38. The rotary spreader comprises a vaned disc mounted on a shaft 39 driven through bevel gears 41 from the shaft 20 of the conveyer which is in turn driven from power means (not shown) through gearing 23. The agitator comprises a rotary shaft, carrying blades 34, which is driven from the conveyer shaft through gearing 36. Two conveyers may be arranged side by side in a hopper of W-shaped cross section. In a modification the spreader is driven separately from the conveyer.
