Abstract
636,137. Fertilizer distributers. WICKS, T. June 20, 1947, Nos. 16358 and 32828. [Class 6 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] A manure or fertilizer distributer comprises a table 34, a conveyer band 73 for depositing material on the table from a hopper 80 and rotary blades 64 sweeping the table. To provide even distribution a rim 35 is provided and progressively decreases in depth in the direction of rotation of the blades 64. A vertically adjustable deflector 66 is arranged over the table. The hopper 80 has an adjustable opening 83, and the conveyor 73 has rollers below the upper run to support it against the weight of material in the hopper. Side cheeks 88 are provided to prevent escape of the material from the conveyer which may be covered in at the sides by additional side plates. The blades 64 and conveyer 73 are driven by chain and sprocket gearing from the landwheels. An adjustable hitch (see Group XXXII) is provided for attachment to a towing vehicle. According to the first Provisional Specification an adjustable baffle may be fitted inside the hopper to regulate the flow through the bottom opening. According to the second Provisional Specification a winch may be used for coupling the machine to its towing vehicle. Endless tracks may be used in place of wheels and two or more distributing elements rotating in opposite directions may be used.
