Abstract
669,911. Manure distributers. MELIN, H. E. April 4, 1949 [April 5, 1948], No. 9073/49. Class 6(i) A fertilizer distributer comprises a wheeled vehicle towed by a tractor and comprising a fertilizer container 1 having two openings 4, 4<SP>1</SP> in the base. Fertilizer falls from the container on to two transversely extending triangular boards 5, 5'. The fertilizer is moved along the boards and distributed over the edge thereof by scrapers 6 mounted on endless chains 7, 7' driven by pinions 8, 8<SP>1</SP> from the land-wheels 10 through a change-speed gear box 9. The boards which may be replaced by others of different shape are pivotally mounted on the machine frame and may be lifted upwardly to reduce the width of the machine. The container is replenished from a towed vehicle, an operator shovelling fertilizer down a shoot. In a modification the machine is mounted on a four-wheeled trailer which includes a hopper provided with a moving apron driven from the land-wheels. A shoot may also be provided for hand-feeding.
