Abstract

761,984. Roller conveyers. PACKMAN, P. J. Oct. 20, 1954 [July 21, 1953], No. 20249/53. Class 78 (1). A conveyer for transporting and cleaning root crops comprises a series of parallel shafts 27 each of which carries a number of small flexible discs 30 of rubbery material having a diameter greater than the distance apart of adjacent shafts. The discs may have one or more peripheral notches 35, Fig. 5, may be formed with a number of shallow blunt teeth, or may be star-shaped. A rotating scrubber consisting of a number of resilient members 41, Fig. 3, mounted on a rotary shaft 40 may bo mounted above the conveyer.
