Abstract
850,302. Crankcases; lubricating. VILLIERS ENGINEERING CO. Ltd., and ANSTEY, F. April 14, 1959 [Jan. 16, 1958], No. 1506/58. Class 7(2). [Also in Group XXVI] A lubricating pump rotor 19 is integral with its drive shaft 11, e.g. a cam-shaft, the axis of which is disposed in a joint plane between parts of the crankcase 15, the bearings 14, 14<SP>1</SP> of the shaft 11 being integral with the crankcase in which the pump casing is formed. The pump comprises a three-lobed inner rotor 19, Fig. 3, which drives two outer four-lobed rotors 17, 18, forming two pumps, the first 17 of which feeds oil from a supply tank to the bearings whilst the second 18 feeds oil from the sump back to the tank. The pump casing is closed by a removable end cover 16.
