Abstract

327,180. Dicksee, C. B., and Associated Equipment Co., Ltd. Dec. 29, 1928. Movable - abutment type; discharge and suction pipes and passages for pumps. - A rotary pump is provided with an additional discharge passage which is automatically and intermittently connected with the main discharge passage. A gear-wheel pump is shown in which the additional discharge passage 19 is formed in a fixed spindle on which rotates a gear wheel 12 formed at one or more points with a radial bore 21 adapted to register periodically with an opening 20 to the additional discharge passage 19 which is thereby connected with the main discharge passage 14 of the pump. An oil pump as above may have the main discharge directed to the crankshaft bearings of an internal-combustion engine and the additional discharge directed to the cam shaft bearings.
