Abstract
845,953. Indicating-apparatus. KERN & CO. A.G. Oct. 3, 1958 [Oct. 15, 1957], No. 31715/58. Class 106 (4). [Also in Group XX] An annular glass ring or disc 1, Fig. 4a, which is to be accurately graduated, is permanently secured to a metallic ring support 2 before being secured by the support 2 in the dividing machine, the support 2 also forming the means whereby the glass ring is secured to the geodetic measuring instrument or other instrument on which it is used. The disc 1 is clamped by ring 3 to the support 2 a layer of putty being provided between the flange of ring 3 and disc 1. The bore in support 2 accurately fits the spindle 5 of the dividing machine and is held thereon by plate 6 and screw 7. After graduation the whole unit 1, 2, 3 is mounted on the geodetic or other instrument, the bore of support 2 accurately fitting the shaft of the instrument. In a modification, Fig. 4b, the glass ring 11 is secured by putty to a support 12.
