Abstract
840,528. Stands for trailers. COOPER, H. W. Nov. 18, 1958 [Nov. 21, 1957], No. 36343/57. Class 79(3). The support for the front end of a trailer comprises a screw jack 12 mounted upon the trailer chassis having an extension member 23 hinged to the screw which, in the load supporting position is aligned with the screw and which folds upwardly under the influence of springs 27, 28 when the load is removed. The device prevents damage to the jack if the trailer is moved before the jack is retracted. The screw 12 is rotated by a handle 34' in a nut 10 secured to a frame 14, 15 attached to the chassis. The frame has members 33 carrying a support 31 to which are attached the springs 27, 28, the lower end of the springs being attached to a rod 29 upon the extension.
