Abstract

835,035. Building slabs; walls &c. BIRCHINALL, A. B. Nov. 6, 1957 [Nov. 9, 1956], No. 34318/56. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) A wall or partition comprises L-shaped, oblong and square slabs 1, 2, 3 respectively, arranged in co-planar relationship with their abutting edges interlocked; each oblong slab is equivalent to two square slabs 3 in alignment, whereas the L-shaped slabs are each equivalent to three slabs 3. The interlocking formations may comprise single tongues 4 and grooves 5 as shown, or alternatively two or more spaced parallel tongues or grooves may be provided on each edge. Dowel pins 6 and complementary recesses 7 also may be provided on opposite edges. The edges of the slabs are preferably bevelled or grooved and the faces of the slabs are marked in squares corresponding to the square 3. The slabs are made of wood, concrete, wood-wool, metal &c. and may be assembled in a surrounding frame 8.
