Abstract

1,170,444. Laminates. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 24 Feb., 1967 [25 Feb., 1966], No. 8458/66. Heading B5N. [Also in Division E1] A laminated building panel comprises two outer sheets 1 and 2 of plaster board with their centres offset from the centre of a laminated core 3 to form tongues 4 and 4a on two adjacent sides and corresponding grooves 5 and (5a) on the two opposite sides, whereby a plurality of panels can be assembled to form a partition wall or paving. The core consists of three sheets 3a, 3b and 3c which may all be plasterboard or of which 3a and 3c may be plasterboard and 3b may be lead or foamed polyurethane or foamed polystyrene. The panels are assembled by placing the elements in a jig and gluing them together. The outer edges of the outer sheets are chamfered so that when the panels are built into a partition, a V-joint suitable for filling is formed. The core 3 may be of slightly smaller area than the outer sheets 1 and 2.
