Abstract

A decorative panel is made by a method in which a sheet of paper with a decorative face, e.g. imitation wood grain, is brought into conformity with the surface of a mould, e.g. a flat glass plate, the decorative face being towards the mould surface, and wet plaster with fibrous reinforcement is applied to the paper and allowed to set. The plaster may contain a urea-formaldehyde resin and the reinforcement may be hessian or glass fibre, woven or otherwise. After drying the plaster may be impregnated with a synthetic resin (e.g. styrenated unsaturated alkyd) cement. A second paper sheet may be added. Specification 27574/13 is referred to.
