[Also in Group X] Laminated panelling comprises a sheet of wood fibre hardboard and a sheet of pliable pasteboard united in firm adhesion, the hardboard being divided or wholly omitted in those areas in which the panelling is bent. The pasteboard is a product of paper-making techniques made by the union of wet laps or by pasting together component layers, and is stiff as compared with paper, but can be bent into an arc of small radius without breaking. The hardboard is a rigid product made of wood fibre cemented together by synthetic resin and compressed under heating, and is preferably thicker than the pasteboard. The parts of the panelling devoid of hardboard may be reinforced after bending by applied pasteboard. The pasteboard may be waterproofed by impregnation, and its surface may be ornamented by varnishing or graining or both.
