Abstract

1,243,716. Strengthening boxes. CLEVEPAK CORP. 3 Nov., 1969 [20 Nov., 1968], No. 53819/69. Heading B8P. [Also in Division F2] A tubular supporting member 10 of generally right isosceles triangular cross-section may be adhered or stapled in a corner of a box (as shown) or with its hypotenuse abutting a side of a box. The corners 18, 20, 22 of the member are rounded and the sides 12, 14, 16 may be planar (as shown) or convex (Figs. 2, 5, 6, not shown). The member may be formed on a mandrel from reprocessed cylinder-machine kraft paper oriented with the machine direction of the paper, i.e. the predominant direction of the fibres, extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the member, the layers of paper being bonded by an adhesive and/or impregnated with a hardening adhesive or resin, or the member may be a resin moulding incorporating glass fibres.
