Abstract

831,659. Winding yarns; traversing mechanism. GEOFFROY-DELORE S. A. Feb. 5, 1957 [Feb. 10, 1956], No. 3932/57. Class 120(2) Thread guide traversing mechanism for bobbin winding machines including a revolving bobbin shaft 5 and an axially reciprocable thread guide shaft 2 parallel to the bobbin shaft, comprises a member 3 secured to the thread guide shaft, a disc 11 surrounding the bobbin shaft and pivoted to member 11 for assuming a variable tilt with respect to the bobbin shaft 5, and a ring 8 rotatably supported in the disc and having its inner periphery in point-contact engagement with the bobbin shaft 5. The ring 8 preferably has a substantially frusto-biconical internal profile and adjustable stops 13 and 14 are provided for adjusting the tilt angle of the disc; with a spring controlled pin 15 for maintaining the disc in each of its tilted end positions. Spring - actuated reversing mechanism 19, 20, 21 and 22 at each end of the guide traversing movement is provided for co-operation with lever 23 on member 3, for forcibly positioning the disc to each of its two tilted end positions as the reciprocable thread guide shaft approaches each of its opposite end positions. In an alternative arrangement an electromagnetically actuated reversing device is provided.
