Abstract

828,282. Electrostatic precipitation. SIMONCARVES Ltd. Sept. 19, 1958 [Oct. 23, 1957], No. 33046/57. Class 39(1). The receiving electrodes of an electrostatic precipitator are made from non-conducting material, and carry at their bottom ends a conducting strip or ring which is connected to earth. Fig. 3, shows a receiving electrode of synthetic plastic in the form of a flat plate 7, with a rounded strip of metal 16 clipped on to the bottom edge. If the electrode is tubular, it may be flared outwards at the bottom, the flared part having clipped to it a wire ring to which is bolted the earth connection, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown).
