Abstract

825,056. Bearings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb. 3, 1956 [Feb. 4, 1955], No. 3477/56. Class 12 (1). A bearing comprises a split annular member 16 made of flexible bearing material, U- shaped in cross - section. Preferably the split 50 is arranged at an angle of 50 degrees with a radial line R. The bearing is used to support a wheel 10 upon a fixed axle 12, the bearing being supported on one side by a shoulder 18 and on the other side by washer 28 which is held in position by a retainer 30, a locking washer 38 and nut 46. Suitable bearing materials are nylon and cellulose acetate butyrate.
