Abstract

824,487. Boxes. ROTH, G., and SCHAFFER, S. June 4, 1957 [March 6, 1956], No.7054/56. Class 18. [Also in Group XXV] The lid 3 of a box may mount a mirror, or an infra-red radiator &c. and is pivotally connected to the bottom 8 by two rigid links 9 and two folding links 10, to permit the lid to be raised without its rear end 14 touching the base and be then rotated and lowered to stand on the latter. The links 9 are pivoted at 12 to the front end of the bottom and to the lid at points 13 nearer to the end 14, the folding links being pivoted to the lid at 15 near that end 14 and at 16 to the bottom. A stop 19 at the joint 11 of each folding link prevents reverse folding of the latter and anti-clockwise rotation of the links 9 is limited by integral stops 23. Stops 20 on the bottom 8 limit the pivoting of links 10 when the lid is closed.
