Abstract

780,228. Boxes. HOFMANN, U. July 19, 1955 [July 21, 1954], No. 20870/55. Class 18. A hinged box lid is sprung into the open or closed position by an over-centre action derived from a lug on one member (box or lid) and resilient deformation of the other. In one embodiment the lid is originally deformed at 6 and is flattened by a lug 5 when the lid is pivotally secured to the body. In other embodiments the lid carries the lug and the rear wall of the body is deformed. In a variation of the last arrangement the box rear wall and lug are integral with the lid and the box bottom is deformed.
