Abstract
819,115. Tumbler driers. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Dec. 2, 1957 [Dec. 11, 1956], No. 37458/57. Class 34(2) The drum of the tumbler drier shown has an aperture 55 in its rear perforated end 19, for access to a lint trap 61 from the front of the drier. In operation, the aperture is closed by a clip-held cover 56 and air drawn into the drier between the drum and the casing top 10 through a slot 36 is blown by a fan 32 through a tube 33 which mounts an electric heater 35, a chamber 38 having access to the drum, the drum and its end 19 and the lint trap 61 and associated outlet duct 47 to eventual discharge to atmosphere in a space outside the room &c. housing the drier. An annular spring-held felt strip 42, Fig. 3, at each end of the drum effects sealing between the latter and the drier structure.
