Abstract
805,577. Vehicle bodies. DAIMLERBENZ A. G. May 10, 1957 [May 12, 1956], No. 14997/57. Class 108(1) A self-supporting vehicle body has a floor 1 to the side edges of which are secured stiffeners 3, 4 and to the centre, a tunnel 2 which is secured at its forward end to the upturned panel 5. The panel 5 is turned rearwardly to form an apron 11 and then forwardly at 13 and is secured by the flange 14 to the panel 5 to form a transverse hollow member 15 which is extended at 16, 17 (see Fig. 3) down the forward sides of the door cutouts to be secured to the stiffeners 3, 4. A further U-shaped structure 18 is secured between the apron 11 and the tunnel 2. Further stiffeners 6, 8 are secured between the floor 1 and the front panel 5.
