Abstract
803,659. Pressure exchangers. PEARSON, R. D., and HOOTON, G. E. Dec. 8, 1954 [Jan. 13, 1954], No. 1046/64. Drawing to Specification. Class 8(1). In a power pressure exchanger having transfer channels after the high pressure scavenger stage feeding back to cells which have left the low pressure scavenge stage and in which the cell outlet ports in the rotor and channel inlet ports in the stator are so shaped that the cell is impelled, splitters are fitted in the channel ports to form subsidiary ducts which are tuned so that an initial wave produced by opening a fresh cell to a subsidiary duct is reflected twice at the duct outlet and finally reflected at the rotor as the next cell comes into communication.
