792,254. Photographic cameras. ROYET, P. F. Jan. 24, 1956 [Feb. 19, 1955], No. 2389/56. Class 98(1) In a photographic camera with a single shutter speed, the diaphragm aperture is controlled by moving a pointer over a scale indicative of lighting conditions. As shown, the diaphragm 6 of a camera is controlled by means carrying four pointers 7, 8, 9, 10 which move over four sectors surrounding the lens. One sector 18 is for use with monochrome film in daylight, and bears marks indicating the state of the light. When the pointer 10 is set to the appropriate mark, the diaphragm is correctly set for a given film emulsion speed. A sector 12 is for use with monochrome film and flashlamps of given characteristics; the scale 13 thereon indicates the distance from the camera to the subject. Sectors 17, 24 are similarly constructed for use with colour film. A windowed disc surrounding the lens covers all the sectors except the one in use.
