Abstract
888,950. Photo-electric exposure controls. AGFA A.G. Sept. 15, 1960 [Sept. 19, 1959], No. 31879/60. Class 40(3). [Also in Group XX] A moving coil galvanometer controlling the exposure of a camera is coupled to a depth of focus range indicator. Diaphragm vanes 10, 11, Fig. 3, are positioned by two photo-electrically energised moving coils 12, 13 and extended to form pointers 8, 9 which co-operate with a transparent depth of focus scale 5 on the camera focusing ring. In other embodiments, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), a single coil actuates the vanes through pin and slot or cam means and the pointers are separate from the vanes or comprise coloured plates visible in the viewfinder. In a camera in which the diaphragm 92, Fig. 6, is adjusted until a follow-up pointer 95 coincides with the galvanometer pointer 102, a slide 105 geared to the coil 98 defines the depth of focus range by co-operation with a curved edge 113. Springs 118, 119 relieve coil 98 of the weight of slide 105.
