Abstract

789,837. Photographic processing solutions. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Nov. 4, 1955 [Nov. 23, 1954], No. 31574/55. Class 98(2) For use where harmless residues are desired, particularly in the silver halide transfer-reversal process where the final prints are normally not washed, the solutions comprise a cyclic imide and a hydroxylamine. Preferably a nitrogenous base other than a hydroxylamine is present in addition. Transfer reversal with the solutions may be effected in the manner described in Specifications 684,592 and 703.231, but the present solutions therefore avoid the usual developers and complexing agents. instead they comprise, in five exampes (I) barbituric acid. diethyl hydroxylamine and aminoethyl, ethanol amine: (II) urazole together with the other two substances of (I); (III) and (V) urazole and diethyl hydroxylamine and (IV) the last two substances with aminoethyl ethanol amine, and each of these solutions includes sodium hydroxide arid high vicosity sodium carboxymethyl rellulose. Numerous other cyclic imides which are the same as those of Specification 751,304, other hydroxylamines and other additional nitrogenous bases for the solutions are quoted in. the Specification. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 751,304.
