789,134. Scrapers for settling tanks. HARTLEY, C. J. Aug. 7, 1956 [June 21, 1955], No. 17856/55. Class 46. In a settling tank trailing arms, pivoted at or near the tops of vertical main scraper blades and depending behind the blades, carry two or more separate trailing scrapers which respond individually to inequalities in the tank floor. A top member 20 on a main scraper 23 carries pivots 24 for arms 26 having at one end a fixed or adjustable counterweight 29 and at the other, which is bent downwards, two or more trailing scrapers 28 provided with rubber tips 27. The trailing scrapers may be used in circular or rectangular tanks, Specification 721,552 is referred to.
